Damian Bazadona, a New York Giants fan, isn’t your typical sports marketing expert. The founder of 10-year-old Situation Interactive built his business around getting people to buy online tickets to Broadway shows like Mamma Mia. Still, the shop’s expertise in peddling spectacle seems to have helped secure its latest win: digital work for the 2014 New York/New Jersey Super Bowl Host Committee. Part of a push to diversify its client base, the football account will help keep the agency’s ideas fresh, Bazadona said. “If you become too niche, you’ve created a cookie shop,” he added.
