For an agency based in Dumbo, picking the United Arab Emirates for its second location might seem like a cultural reach. But after seeing all the big brands with regional offices in Dubai, Carrot Creative decided to open up shop there in January. CEO Mike Germano said while Brooklyn and the UAE may be cultural opposites in some ways, he believes they can make social media work there. The outpost has just six employees, which Germano hopes to grow to 30 by 2013. In the meantime, the 33 staffers at the agency’s New York headquarters will keep on cranking out work for clients like Red Bull, Jaguar and Nasdaq.
