Photos, Video in Twitter Stream

Twitter unveiled a new Web experience that will allow for the display of photos and videos in a bid to make the site more accessible and counter competition from third-party Twitter clients.

The San Francisco-based company convened its first-ever press conference at its headquarters to announce the revamped site, which will roll out incrementally worldwide beginning Tuesday to its base of 160 million users.

The company has struck deals with 15 companies, including YouTube, Ustream and Flickr, to get the rights to display their content on the site.
