The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy will rebid its $160.3 million contract now held by New York shop Ogilvy & Mather. A new RFP will be issued September 6.

ONDCP has been quietly talking to shops for weeks, and experts had predicted the account would be rebid (Adweek, Aug. 20).

“The recommendation was based on the federal acquisitions regulations, market research, a desire to ensure the integrity of the procurement system and to reaffirm confidence in the public health campaign,” said ONDCP rep Jennifer DeVallance.
