NEW YORK OMD has named Kate Stephenson to the new position of president, global account management. Stephenson will lead all client service, strategy, resources, capabilities and best-practices initiatives across worldwide and multi-national accounts.
She has also been appointed to the worldwide board of Omnicom Media Group, the corporate management arm that oversees media shops OMD and PHD.
Previously, Stephenson was global account director at OMD. She is based in Chicago and will continue to oversee her current accounts, including McDonald's, one of the agency's largest and most visible pieces of business.
Stephenson has been with OMD for nine years, first as managing director for Southeast Asia in Singapore and later in London as part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa management team.
Earlier in her career, she was director of Carat's Asia-Pacific group, which she helped establish and expand to eight offices for Omnicom rival Aegis Group.
