NEW YORK The City of New York has a new chief marketing officer.

Maureen Reidy, who had been president of NYC Big Events, will take over the duties of Joe Perello, who left to join the private sector in May. Reidy’s new role is effective immediately, a representative at NYC Big Events said today.

The move is part of an overhaul of the city’s tourism and marketing offices, spearheaded by a mayoral initiative to combine three separate marketing entities: NYC & Company, NYC Big Events and NYC Marketing.
