Digital shop Moxie Interactive, a unit of Publicis Groupe’s Zenith, has hired Scott Neslund as president, a new role at the agency.

Moxie said Neslund’s responsibilities will include handling client relationships, developing new business, optimizing agency efficiency and managing agency resources. He’ll report to Moxie CEO Joel Lunenfeld.

Most recently, Neslund was CEO of Red Bricks Media, a San Francisco-based digital firm, which he joined in January 2010.

Prior to that he was North American CEO of WPP Group’s Mindshare, a post he held for about two years before being replaced by the current CEO, Phil Cowdell, in May 2009.

The move marks a return to the Publicis fold for Neslund. Before joining Mindshare, he ran Publicis’ Chicago-based media agency Starlink (later renamed Spark Communications). He also served as an evp at the Starcom MediaVest Group.

Neslund will relocate to Atlanta, where Moxie is based. The agency also has offices in New York and Los Angeles.
