NBCU, American Airlines Strike Inflight Content Deal

NBC Universal has struck a two-year with American Airlines to provide content for the airlines’ inflight entertainment. Beginning March 1, NBCU will produce four 90-minute programs each month that will air on the airline’s overhead main-screens and where available, personal entertainment devices.

The agreement with NBC Universal ends a 10-year relationship between AA and CBS, which also sold inflight advertising. NBCU’s deal with AA does not include ad sales. AA’s inflight advertising will be sold by New York-based Brand Connections.
