BOSTON -- Mullen/LHC yesterday won the consolidated Wachovia account, according to agency representative Ann Shannon. The budget is estimated at $60-75 million.
The Winston-Salem, N.C. shop, an affiliate of Interpublic Group's Mullen in Wenham, Mass., beat Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco, in a shootout between the two roster shops. The two agencies had been incumbents on accounts of Wachovia Bank and First Union, respectively, before the merger of the two financial institutions.
The shootout was conducted in-house by the Charlotte, N.C.-based client in order to consolidate advertising with a single agency.
