Liberal pundit Keith Olbermann -- who constantly rails against political corruption on the right -- has been knocked off his TV perch by the same sort of dicey behavior he claims to be against.
MSNBC today suspended Olbermann indefinitely without pay following a bombshell revelation that the TV host made financial contributions to three Democratic midterm campaigns.
The news of Olbermann’s donations to a pair of Arizona congressmen and losing Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway was first reported by Politico (the site is now running an updated story).
Olbermann’s ethical gaffe is certainly an embarrassment to MSNBC and NBC News overall -- particularly since he has repeatedly criticized rival Fox News for financially backing Republican candidates.
"I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night,” MSNBC president Phil Griffin told The Huffington Post. “Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay."
