Mother N.Y. Boosts Digital Efforts

Joe McCann in creative tech role

Mother New York is ramping up its digital resources with the addition of Joe McCann in the newly-created role of director of creative technology.

McCann was previously mobile and platform architect at Bazaarvoice, an Austin, TX social commerce company. Before that, he ran his own digital consultancy, subPrint Interactive, where he became involved in business ranging from technical architecture to mobile application and design. 

McCann will be involved in Mother Ventures, a part of the agency that creates and invests in its own business opportunities. That initiative includes Austin-based Circle Media, a newly-formed live measurement and analytics company in which Mother has a stake.

McCann reports directly to Mother N.Y. founding partner Andrew Deitchman, who describes the new creative technology exec as someone who not only comes up with big ideas but can build them. “We didn’t hire him to create banner ads. He’ll be creating digital products and experiences,” Deitchman said.
