MoneyGram Payment Services awarded its account, which it valued at $12-15 million, to Campbell Mithun Esty in Minneapolis after a monthlong review.
Jeff Wilcox, MoneyGram’s vice president of marketing, said company officials were impressed with the agency’s “solid strategic work.” CME’s first work is expected to break in January, he said.
Other contenders in the review were Martin/Williams and Carmichael Lynch, both Minneapolis, and Chicago agencies DDB Needham and E. Morris Communications.
Denver-based MoneyGram was acquired by Travelers Express in Minneapolis earlier this year.
Advertising from previous agency MacNamara, Stewart, Saperstein in New York is tagged, “Money well sent–worldwide.”
