* Among a poll’s affluent women, 54 percent say “security” is the word they associate most closely with wealth. Eighty-two percent consider themselves knowledgeable about investing and finances. (Women & Co.)

* In a 2000 survey of college freshmen, 44 percent of women and 53 percent of men said they drink beer. By 2008, says a new report, the figures had fallen to 33 percent of women and 44 percent of men. There was a similar drop in the numbers saying they drink liquor or wine, from 54 percent to 43 percent among women and from 53 percent to 45 percent among men.
