Jeffrey Hinz, director of digital and emerging media at ID Media, has been named managing partner, digital director for MediaCom U.S. He succeeds Sloan Broderick, who is taking on a new role at the WPP Group agency that has yet to be announced.
In addition to oversight of MediaCom’s U.S. digital operations, Hinz assumes responsibility for the agency’s emerging digital initiatives that include video, display, SEO, SEM, mobile, social, and emerging media.
In his digital role at ID Media, Hinz worked with clients like Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal, Maybelline, SC Johnson, Subaru, Jose Cuervo, and Nikon. Previously, Hinz was general manager, vice president of marketing for K2 Digital.
Hinz’ move to MediaCom is the latest in a series of top digital appointments over the past month. These have included WPP sibling Mindshare’s hiring of Chris O’Brien as managing director, digital lead in Chicago; Omnicom’s OMD unit naming Ben Winkler as digital director and Colin Sutton to head OMD Word; Troy Kelley moving to Interpublic Group’s R/GA as managing director, client services; and corporate sibling Mullen’s hire of Perry Fair and Mauro Cavalletti as co-chief digital officers.
