NEW YORK WPP Group’s MediaCom has hired Adam Komack in the new position of director of the North American Dell media team and U.S. direct response practice leader. Komack will report to Euan Jarvie, U.S. chief client officer.

WPP was awarded the full-service global Dell business after a review in December 2007. The holding company tapped MediaCom, one of several media shops under the GroupM umbrella, to handle client media duties. In the U.S., Dell spent just over $200 million on ads in 2008, according to Nielsen.
