The McDonald’s Corp. has chosen Tribal DDB, a New York-based i-shop, as its U.S. interactive agency of record to handle digital consulting, technology marketing and e-commerce initiatives.

The move expands on DDB’s relationship with McDonald’s, which began in 1971 and grew into DDB being named McDonald’s lead global agency in 1997. Meanwhile, Tribal DDB’s new appointment in the U.S. complements its partnership with McDonald’s in Australia, Denmark and Germany.

Tribal DDB, an independent business unit of DDB Worldwide, said it has developed an umbrella digital strategy that will apply to all of McDonald’s interactive marketing efforts.
