McCann Erickson has won a place on the Carlsberg Group’s advertising roster outside the U.S.
While the agency hasn’t been given any specific brand assignments, landing a spot on the brewery’s lineup gives the Interpublic network the chance to work on creative briefs across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Addressing the agency’s appointment, Carlsberg global category manager Diana Starbanov said of McCann: “They demonstrated great expertise in managing and building brands, locally, regionally and globally.”
JWT also recently landed a place among Carlsberg agencies, joining shops like London’s Saatchi & Saatchi and Fold7, Antwerp’s Duval Guillaume Modem, and Buenos Aires-based Santo. A year ago, LBi was appointed the global digital lead on Carlsberg’s flagship beer brand.
This year Carlsberg has been making shifts among its roster agencies. In February the company moved global advertising duties on its namesake beer brand from Fold7 to Santo. Around the same time, Fold7 was given responsibility to launch Carlsberg’s Somersby cider into the U.K. market.
