Omnicom's Rapp has hired Marty Cooke as U.S. chief creative officer.

Cooke (pictured) was most recently a partner and creative chief at New York-based shop SS+K, where his replacement is being sought.

"Great creative thinking is the final piece of the puzzle in our strategy to compete for agency-of-record accounts," said Bob Horvath, global CEO of Rapp, in a statement. "Marty is all about applying bold creativity to bring brands to life."

At Rapp, Cooke takes over from Rachael Heapps, who has chosen to oversee the creative team in the agency's New York office instead.

At SS+K, Cooke worked on the Livestrong initiative as well as campaigns for Delta Airlines. Earlier in his career, he worked on efforts for JetBlue, Frutopia, Reebok, British Airways and BellSouth at shops including Chiat/Day and Merkley Newman Harty.

Rapp's most recent account wins include Humana, Coty and Viagra.
