Jessica Simpson Goes 'Fancy' for Fragrance Launch

Pop singer and actress Jessica Simpson has created a new fragrance that brings together gardenia, pears and amber crystals for an aroma called Fancy.

The trio of vintage-inspired, rose-gold floral motif bottles hits stores Aug. 15. Print ads will run in leading fashion magazines, including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, CosmoGIRL! and Seventeen, in September. Simpson also is endorsing the launch via promotional inserts in her upcoming country album, Do You Know, which comes out Sept. 9.

Fancy marks the first prestigious perfume launch for Simpson, said Neil Katz, CEO of Parlux Fragrances, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which has licensing agreements with celebrities like Simpson, Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick. Katz did not disclose spending for the campaign.

The Fancy line costs $59 for a 3.4-oz. bottle; $49 for 1.7 ozs and $30 for a 6-oz. bottle of body lotion.

Accompanying the purchase is a soft pink, vintage-inspired cosmetic case. Perfumer Alexis Dadier of Mane Paris collaborated with Simpson on the launch.

Other Hollywood A-listers, such as Paris Hilton, also have debuted perfume lines. The Simple Life star released one, called Can Can, last October. Previous Hilton perfume launches included Paris Hilton, Just Me and Heiress
