Jaguar Meets With Agencies on $100 Mil. Account

NEW YORK At least five agencies have advanced to a round of chemistry and credentials meetings in the review for global creative chores on Jaguar's $100 million ad account, sources said.

The contenders include WPP Group siblings Young & Rubicam, JWT and Berlin Cameron/Red Cell; Havas' Euro RSCG; and MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, according to sources.

Y&R in Irvine, Calif., is the incumbent. The other agencies are pitching out of their New York offices.

One independent shop is likely also in the running, sources said, but the agency's identity could not immediately be determined.

Independents Doner in Southfield, Mich., Leagas Delaney and M&C Saatchi, both in London, and StrawberryFrog in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, also received the client RFP, sources said [Adweek Online, Jan. 20].

The visits begin today and will lead to a cut to finalists, said sources.

The agencies either declined comment or did not return calls. A client representative would not discuss the review process.

The contenders, which were notified of their status on Friday, were culled from a list of 11 shops that initially replied.

After the visits, client executives will select finalists—possibly by the end of this week, according to sources. Final presentations are slated for the second week of March.

The review is being managed by the consultancy team of Roth Associates in New York and Agency Assessments International in London, neither of which returned calls.
