Jack Daniel's Political Posters

They got plastered all over Denver yesterday -- these print pieces for Jack Daniel's, I mean. And not a minute too soon. No doubt delegates at the Democratic Convention are already desperate for some old-fashioned diversion from those smoke-free rooms. Indeed, the whisky maker does not play favorites: this same clever series of mock political campaign posters and ads, created by Boston's Arnold, will also run (and be plastered) all over St. Paul for the Republican Convention. Headlines like "The Floor Recognizes the Representative from Tennessee," cover all the bases, red and blue. There's also "Socialize liberally, drink conservatively," which won't raise anyone's hackles. And the design throughout is a cool combo of the "old No. 7" brand's authentic southern iconography mixed with JFK-ish 1960s graphic design. There'll even be a bar setup at Jack Daniel's campaign headquarters in both places. Nice job, Jack. Talk about reinventing the party line. --Barbara Lippert
