IgoUgo Sets Site on TM Interactive

DALLAS Online travel community IgoUgo.com has hired TM Interactive, part of Interpublic Group agency TM Advertising, to lead an integrated marketing communications effort, the agency said.

With 350,000 members, IgoUgo allows travelers to share travel experiences, advice and photos covering more than 4,000 destinations, the agency said. In return for writing reviews, members gain points that can be redeemed for gift certificates, frequent flier miles and other incentives.

TMI's first assignment will be to launch paid search-engine marketing support and to create online advertising expected to break in the fall.

Jim Donnelly, vp of marketing for IgoUgo, said TM's work on the American Airlines and Texas Tourism accounts were factors in choosing the Irving, Texas-based agency to promote its business.

IgoUgo has won a Webby Award as best travel site in the U.S. and a top ranking from USA Today, among other honors, the agency said.

James Hering, director of integrated marketing at the agency, leads TMI.
