HP Marketing Chief To Join Apple

Allison Johnson, svp of marketing at Hewlett-Packard, has resigned and will join Apple as vp of worldwide marketing communications, HP said. Mike Winkler, CMO and evp of HP’s customer solutions group, will absorb her duties, the company said. HP CEO Carly Fiorina left the company last week. HP’s lead shop is Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. Apple’s is TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif. HP in Palo Alto, Calif., spent about $260 million on ads through November 2004, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
