Horizon Media is expanding its recently launched WHY Group. On Thursday, the independent media agency named Kenneth Burns as the group’s managing director of consumer insights.
Burns will report to Sheri Roder, chief of the WHY Group.
The WHY Group’s mission is to identify cultural and societal trends driving consumer behavior. Among other responsibilities, Burns will be developing new consumer insight tools. “I’m excited not only by the opportunity to help uncover the ‘why’s’ behind consumer behavior, but to be a driving force in putting this coveted information to action on behalf of Horizon’s clients,” Burns said in a statement.
Prior to taking on this new role at Horizon, Burns was group planning director at Wunderman, leading the media efforts for the Dell account. Previously, he was svp of strategic planning at McCann Erickson, overseeing clients such as Verizon Wireless, Capital One and Wendy’s.
