Boosted by double-digit growth in Asian and Latin American operations, Havas said organic revenue grew 3.5 percent in the first quarter to $510 million.

While the Paris-based holding company reported strong results in its home country—where organic growth climbed 5.1 percent—overall European results were dragged down by troubled Eurozone economies in Spain and Portugal.

The company said its North American business continued to perform well, posting 3.6 percent organic growth in the first quarter driven by “particularly strong” results in digital, healthcare communication and media.

Earlier this month, Havas added to its U.S. business by purchasing an undisclosed majority stake in crowdsourcing resource Victors & Spoils. The Boulder-based company was founded in 2009 by former Crispin Porter + Bogusky executive director of strategy and innovation John Winsor and creative director Evan Fry, along with Claudia Batten, a co-founder of gaming advertising network Massive.
