Havas Media continues to expand in the APAC region. The company announced that it has acquired a majority stake in Snapworx Mobile Inc., the mobile marketing unit associated with one of the Philippines’ largest digital marketing agencies.

Havas Media will rebrand the business as Mobext, Havas Digital’s global mobile marketing brand that already operates in 11 global markets. For Havas, this move bolsters its media company’s presence in the region along with its agencies MPG and Media Contacts.

Arthur Policarpio, CEO of Snapworx, has been tasked with leading the rebranded Mobext. Snapworx co-founder and CTO, Jeremy Obial, will join Policarpio on the management team.

“Snapworx has some extremely sophisticated platforms for mobile marketing and a very impressive list of clients," Anthony Rhind, CEO of Havas Digital, said in a statement. "It is a wonderful addition to Havas Digital's agencies and we see a great cultural fit with them. I am excited by the prospect of the new agency Mobext, and look forward to working with the teams to continue and support the great work that it is so well known for."

Mobext offers messaging services such as SMS and download, mobile Internet services, mobile display, search and proximity-based services.
