The New York headquarters of Grey has a new chief marketing officer.
Jane Reiss, the CMO of NYC & Company, the marketing and tourism partnership arm of New York City, is joining the WPP shop to work with Tor Myhren, president and chief creative officer and Michael Houston, chief operating officer.
She succeeds Houston, who was promoted to managing director in September 2011, and then to his current role last October.
Reiss was NYC & Company’s first evp and CMO, having held the position for the last six years. During that time, the organization realized Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s goal of 50 million annual visitors four years ahead of schedule.
Earlier in her career, Reiss was a partner and managing director at Margeotes Fertitta & Partners in New York. The agency, which no longer exists, was co-founded by George Fertitta, who is the CEO of NYC & Company.
During her 18 years at Margeotes, Reiss managed accounts such as Coca-Cola, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hearst Corp., Tribeca Film Festival, MediaOne, Cunard, SunCom/AT&T Wireless, Colonial Williamsburg and Godiva.
