Google last week introduced beta versions of an e-mail, personalized-search and Web-alerts product. The company said its e-mail service, Gmail, will feature search capabilities and a gigabyte of free storage. Separately, Digital Envoy last Monday filed a civil action lawsuit accusing Google of improperly using technology Digital Envoy developed that enables geographically targeted online ads. The suit claims Google violated terms of a November 2000 agreement when it started to supply ads to third-party sites last year.
