Goodyear Tire & Rubber has appointed R. Scott Rogers to the newly created post of CMO for the company’s North American Tire consumer business.

Rogers, who will assume the new role at the end of March, will be responsible for advertising and marketing across Goodyear’s consumer tire business. The brands he will oversee include Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly.

“Even within the context of the poor economy, Goodyear [tire] brands have grown in market share, and we have Scott joining us to help lead the advertising efforts behind those brands,” said Goodyear rep Ed Markey.

Prior to joining Goodyear, Rogers served as senior vice president of marketing and sales for Norwegian Cruise Line.
