Goodby, Silverstein & Partners is opening an office in New York, its second outside of the Omnicom agency’s San Francisco headquarters. In 2010, 30-year-old GSP set up an outpost in Detroit to work on General Motors’ Chevrolet account.
Two S.F. execs have been tapped to run the agency: Christian Haas becomes partner and ecd and Nancy Reyes is associate partner and managing director. It’s expected the office will initially work with current clients like Comcast, Google and YouTube.
"The best talent often lives in New York, or wants to," said GSP co-chairman Rich Silverstein in a statement. "This office will be a way to take advantage of that. Many agencies open offices in new cities to serve particular clients but this office is about great people."
The agency will temporarily be located at 7 World Trade Center before moving, in April, into 200 Varick Street, a building already home to other Omnicom agencies like Merkley + Partners and Doremus.
