BOSTON McKinney said it has added creative duties on Gold’s Gym following a review.

McKinney, located in Durham, N.C., in June declared its independenc from Paris-based holding company Havas. This represents its first new-business score of note as an independent.

The win is important because of the high-profile nature of the iconic brand, said Brad Brinegar, agency CEO and chairman.

Other agencies that pursued Gold’s Gym were Publicis Groupe’s Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco and Omnicom Group’s Zimmerman in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
