DETROIT General Motors will announce Wednesday that it is shifting some of its key marketing executives into different positions and realigning its retail structure, according to sources.
Kurt Ritter, currently divisional marketing general manager of Chevrolet, has been appointed to the new position of general manager, Buick and Pontiac-GMC divisions. GM executives believe the alignment of Buick, Pontiac and GMC dealers will make this retail channel the fourth largest in the automotive industry. He will report to John Middlebrook, vice president of vehicle brand marketing and corporate advertising.
Lynn Myers, divisional marketing general manager of Pontiac-GMC, will continue in that role. She will report to Ritter to coordinate marketing efforts.
Brent Dewar, currently general manager of the northeast region, will replace Ritter as divisional marketing general manager at Chevrolet, reporting to Middlebrook. He will have direct responsibility for all marketing and advertising activities at Chevrolet.
Roger Adams, currently divisional marketing general manager of Buick, is named general manager of GM Customer Network, reporting to Middlebrook and responsible for GM's customer relationship management activities in North America, including interactive and direct marketing, customer service call centers and dealer programs.
All changes are effective April 1.
