Ameritel Communications, a coast-to-coast reseller of cellular and paging services here, said it awarded “joint agency of record” status to two local shops: Fricks/ Firestone and incumbent Sadler & Streib Advertising. Industry sources estimated the total budget at $15-20 million.
Fricks/Firestone will handle the startup telecom’s first national image campaign, said Paris Holt, marketing director of Ameritel, which markets its services through Kmart, Office Max, Target and other retailers.
“I hired [Fricks/Firestone] because I thought they were a great company to build a brand,” Holt said.
