NEW YORK Fox Interactive Media division chief Ross Levinsohn has resigned from the company, parent News Corp. said. The new head of FIM is Ross Levinsohn’s cousin Peter, who takes over as president beginning Nov. 27.

Peter Levinsohn has worked at Fox for 18 years, most recently serving as president of digital media for Fox Entertainment Group.

Ross Levinsohn is credited as the architect of News Corp.’s Internet buying spree that quickly transformed the company into a major Web player, most notably through the July 2005 acquisition of MySpace.
