Fox Advances Earley to President of Marketing

Fox's veteran PR and marketing guru Joe Earley has been promoted to president of marketing and communications.

The promotion makes Earley the fourth executive at Fox to hold a presidency and the first head of marketing/communications to hold such a title in the network's history.

Earley will continue to be responsible for overseeing entertainment publicity as well as the company's internal corporate marketing efforts.

"Joe is the best marketing executive in the industry and richly deserves this promotion," said Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment at Fox Networks Group. "His groundbreaking campaign for 'Glee' demonstrates Joe's formidable combination of strategic, creative and leadership skills. We are all thrilled he will be here with us at Fox for many more years."

Since Earley joined Fox in 1994 as a senior publicist, he has risen steadily through the ranks. He is known for innovative and ambitious promotional strategies, including on-air and online "Tweet-peets" and pioneering the use of digital billboards to drive viewership. Before Fox, Earley spent several years in media relations at HBO.
