Four New York shops have emerged as contenders in the review for the CSFBdirect creative account. D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles; Margeotes|Fertitta + Partners; Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG; and TBWA\Chiat\Day are pitching the estimated $20 million business, sources said.

Incumbent Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners declined to participate. The review is being handled by chief marketing officer Debra Isenberg. The Jersey City, N.J.-based client couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

According to Competitive Media Reporting, the online brokerage of investment-banking firm Credit Suisse First Boston spent about $20 million in media last year.
