Forza Marketing Group Acquires Plateau Telecom

Forza Marketing Group has won the nearly $2 millionadvertising account of Plateau Telecommunications.

The Clovis, N.M.-based client provides a gamut of telecom services, ranging from long distance to local Internet access, in eastern New Mexico and west Texas.

The Little Rock, Ark., shop won the account following a review. Other finalists included Regian & Wilson/Grey Worldwide in Fort Worth, Texas, and Flynn/Wright of Des Moines, Iowa.

Incumbent agency Callahan Creek in Lawrence, Kan., resigned the account after picking up some assignments from Sprint.

"They're my new favorite account," said Forza president Tim Martin. "I appreciate the way they did [the review]."

Following site visits, the client presented the finalists with fictional case studies involving minimal spec creative.

"They said the point of it is we want to see your thinking process; we're not going to steal your ideas," Martin said.

Plateau joins two other tech-minded companies on the agency's client roster—AVOW Technology Solutions in Little Rock and Vantage Telecom of Fort Smith, Ark.

"Winning a technology account of this size and market growth opportunity places our firm exactly where we want to be," Martin continued. "Our firm has the knowledge and strategy to put together a strong and successful technology-based marketing campaign."

Forza's first task for the client will be to create a corporate branding campaign.

"We're looking to create an experiential brand for their company that the customer can relate to because they have such a variety of products," Martin said.

Plateau, part of a telecommunications cooperative, operates 11 sales and business offices in two states and more than 50 retail agent locations.
