The builders of an enormous casino resort have started a national search for a shop to handle a new $10 million advertising account.
The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, a $2 billion complex scheduled to open in Las Vegas in April 1999, has been meeting with a “handful” of shops from Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas, said Kurt Ouchida, director of communications for the client. He declined to name the agencies. “We’re going after real top-notch ad firms that are creative and can get our message out,” he said.
It has not yet been determined whether the winning agency would have media buying duties.
Separately, the client is meeting with three national public relations agencies.
