As if the airlines needed more trouble, recent news of safety problems has left many consumers jittery. In Rasmussen Reports polling, 61 percent of adults said they are concerned about the safety of airline travel these days, including 28 percent “very” concerned. Just 8 percent (polled while riding a train, perhaps) said they’re “not at all concerned.” Frequent travelers aren’t immune to such fear: Among those who fly at least once a month, 63 percent said they’re somewhat or very concerned.
