NEW YORK Fallon here has won creative and media planning duties on Virgin Mobile USA’s $50 million account, the client confirmed. Media buying duties remain at Palisades Media Group in Santa Monica, Calif.

The Publicis Groupe shop won the business after a review in which two contenders withdew before final presentations (Adweek Online, April 4). The early exits of WPP Group’s Berlin Cameron/Red Cell, New York, and independent Modernista!, Boston, left two agencies in contention: Fallon, which pitched with executives from its Minneapolis office, and the incumbent, Leagas Delaney, San Francisco.
