An epidemic is hardly worth having unless we blame someone for it, and lots of people are ready to blame soda and junk food for the alarming surge in childhood obesity. As you can see from the chart here, which excerpts a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted this month, there’s much support for kicking sugary food and drink out of schools. That’s more appealing than having a “sin tax” slapped on those items — an approach opposed by 56 percent of those polled.
