Expedia Creative Goes Into Play

Expedia.com has launched a review of creative duties on its advertising account, sources said.

Major media spending on the brand totaled $59 million last year, down 28 percent from 2007’s total of $82 million, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus. Those figures do not include online spending.

It was not immediately clear if the incumbent, independent Doner of Southfield, Mich., is defending. The Bellevue, Wash.-based Expedia has hired Ark Advisors in New York to manage the search, according to sources.
