Annoyed when you see someone talking on a cell phone while driving? Just be grateful this person isn’t staring at the phone to view video or download games. A report from Deloitte (based on polling fielded in the fall) finds 32 percent of 14-75-year-olds agreeing that “I use my mobile phone as an entertainment device.” Fifty-three percent of 14-25-year-olds view their cell phones in this light, as do 44 percent of 26-42-year-olds. Just 11 percent of 43-61-year-olds and 5 percent of 62-75-year-olds think of their cell phones this way.

Elsewhere in the survey, 40 percent of all respondents said they use their cell phone at least occasionally to play games, while 36 percent use it for Internet access, 28 percent to download music, 21 percent to watch user-generated video, 20 percent to update their social-networking pages and 19 percent to watch professionally generated video (TV shows, movies, etc.).
