IPG's Deutsch, a unit of Lowe, has named Bert Moore partner and chief strategy officer in its flagship New York office.

Moore (pictured) fills a post vacant for nearly a year since the departure of Mick McCabe. His first day on the job will be Jan. 4, though he assisted the agency with its winning pitch for Microsoft's global business-to-business assignment this summer.

He joins from Lowe + Partners, where he was global chief strategy officer. The shop will not name a direct successor.

At Deutsch, Moore will report to New York CEO Val DiFebo, with a dotted line report to Linda Sawyer, North American CEO, on global business opportunities.

"While working with Bert on the Microsoft pitch it became evident there was a real synergy; his sharp business mind showcased our business results approach and his vibrant energy influenced a great creative idea," said DiFebo, in a statement.

Added Moore: "I really fell for the potent Deutsch culture. It's a complex thread to unravel-tough, but a damn close knit family; unwavering in its results orientation, but free enough to experiment and, it shows deep respect to its clients without shelving its values."
