Matt Lewis wants nothing to do with Arianna Huffington.
In fact, the conservative columnist is so opposed to Huffington’s politics that he has decided to leave AOL’s Politics Daily, just one day after AOL announced it was acquiring The Huffington Post.
In his final blog post for Politics Daily on Tuesday (Feb. 8), Lewis said the fact that Huffington is about to take control of AOL’s editorial content “alarmed him." Why? To Lewis, Huffington is a “far-left liberal.”
Lewis is also worried that Huffington will change the balanced editorial focus of Politics Daily (which has been rumored to be a potential casualty of the AOL-HuffPo deal). “Obviously, I am more than happy to write for a mainstream news outlet where differing opinions are allowed to flourish, but I am less comfortable with the notion of being permanently affiliated with an overtly left-of-center (sometimes activist) outlet,” he wrote.
Lewis has already found his next gig. He’s jumping to The Daily Caller, the conservative site founded and edited by Tucker Carlson.
