Colin Kinsella Is New Mindshare N.A. CEO

Succeeds Antony Young

Colin Kinsella has been named chief executive of Mindshare, North America, succeeding Antony Young who took on that role 22 months ago. Young will now shift his focus to global business projects and development, the GroupM media network said.

Kinsella was CEO of Digitas in North America until March when the Publicis Groupe company promoted Tony Weisman to that job. (That management shift occurred a month after Publicis merged newly acquired LBi with Digitas outside the U.S. Domestically, the Digitas brand remains.) Kinsella joined Digitas from sister company Razorfish where he was global chief innovation officer in early 2010 and took on the North American role in October 2011.

Young, who was chief executive of Optimedia in the U.S., moved to Mindshare in October 2011. He replaced Phil Cowdell who was named chairman and who left in January 2012 to become president of R2C Group, an Oregon-based direct response agency.
