Seafood supplier Contessa Food Products has awarded its advertising account to Colby & Partners.

The San Pedro, Calif.-based client spent about $1 million on ads last year, according to CMR. The budget with Colby is $3-4 million, said Kim Haskell, evp and partner at the Santa Monica, Calif., agency.

“They’re one of the biggest and best shrimp producers in the U.S., and they’re in a category they pretty much own. That’s exciting to us because it fits in with our ownership positioning,” said Haskell, referring to Contessa’s breaded-shrimp products.
