Turner Broadcasting Systems’ CNN has contacted at least seven agencies about an undisclosed branding assignment and will start to meet with those shops this week, sources said.
A client representative denied knowledge of an agency review. Sources said, however, a CNN marketing executive in New York called shops two weeks ago and asked them to respond to a questionnaire and send creative samples.
Billings were not disclosed. When Deutsch in New York landed a similar assignment in 1996, it was said to be worth $20 million [Adweek, July 1, 1996].
