DETROIT The first executive to leave Chrysler in the wake of a private equity group’s buyout earlier this month is chief marketer George Murphy, the automaker confirmed today.

Murphy, 51, had been svp, global brand management, since 2001. He will leave effective June 1, and no replacement has been named.

“George has made a key contribution to our efforts to retool our brands—Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge,” said Steven Landry, evp of North American sales and marketing, in a statement.
