Choice Hotels Picks New Agencies

McCann, MRM//McCann inherit the business from Doner

Choice Hotels has selected the New York office of McCann Erickson as the brand's new lead creative agency and sister shop MRM//McCann for digital and customer relationship marketing efforts.

Media spending on the brand totaled nearly $50 million in the U.S last year, according to Kantar Media.

The selection follows a review in which the other finalist was Deutsch in New York.

In 2009, Leo Burnett landed lead creative responsibilities for the hotelier while Doner won promotional duties. The following year Doner reportedly beat Burnett in an agency consolidation and was the incumbent on the business that McCann and MRM won.

Media responsibilities were not part of the search and continue to be handled by Havas Media. Cohn & Wolfe remains Choice Hotels' PR agency.

Choice parent company Choice Hotels International operates hospitality brands like Choice Hotels, Choice Privileges, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn, and Ascend Hotel Collection.
